With experience in virtually every type of modern bariatric surgery, Jamokay Taylor, MD was appointed to the position of Chief Executive Officer and President at the Warrenton Weight Loss Institute in 2008. An affiliate of Barix Clinics in Ypsilanti, Michigan, the Warrenton Weight Loss Institute provides comprehensive bariatric treatment and compassionate patient care. At the Warrenton Weight Loss Institute, Dr. Jamokay Taylor consults with patients to determine the best course of treatment, which may include laparoscopic surgery, open gastric bypass surgery, endoscopic procedures, or gastric banding. Dr. Jamokay Taylor also actively cares for his patients after surgery, providing comprehensive follow-up services and, if necessary, correctional procedures. Dr. Jamokay Taylor began his career in bariatric surgery at the Center for Obesity Related Illness (CORI), now affiliated with Barix Clinics, a full-service bariatrics practice with offices in Pennsylvania, Ohio, and Michigan. Dr. Jamokay Taylor served at CORI for two years before joining the American Bariatric Medicine Institute in Madison Heights, Michigan; two years later, he accepted his current position at the Warrenton Weight Loss Institute. In addition to his private practice experience, Dr. Jamokay Taylor has held hospital appointments with several prestigious facilities in the Detroit area. Dr. Jamokay Taylor served as a General Surgeon at St. John Detroit Riverview Hospital from 2004 until 2007, and he currently practices at the nationally renowned Detroit Medical Center (DMC) Harper University Hospital. Dr. Jamokay Taylor also performs trauma surgery at DMC Sinai-Grace Hospital’s Emergency Department, a high-volume, level II trauma center. A member of several professional organizations, Dr. Jamokay Taylor serves as a volunteer tutor in his spare time. Dr. Jamokay Taylor also enjoys tennis, basketball, football, cycling, and reading.
